Our Mission

The mission of The Curve Club is to help tweens and teens with scoliosis feel seen, understood, and less alone.

Scoliosis can affect far more than the spine.

It can influence confidence, friendships, school, sports, body image, family relationships, and the way a young person imagines the future.

Many of those experiences happen quietly.

The Curve Club was created to give those feelings a place inside a story.

Through an ongoing digital fiction series, readers follow characters experiencing different parts of the scoliosis journey, including diagnosis, monitoring, bracing, surgery, recovery, and everyday teenage life.

The characters do not always know the right thing to say.

They do not handle every situation perfectly.

They worry, laugh, argue, make mistakes, grow, and learn to support one another.

They are more than their curves.

That is one of the most important messages of the series.

Stories That Help Readers Feel Understood

The Curve Club is not designed to feel like a medical guide.

It is a story about friendships, family, school, confidence, secrets, goals, and growing up.

Scoliosis is part of the characters’ lives, but it is never everything they are.

By seeing familiar thoughts and emotions reflected in the story, readers may feel more comfortable talking about their own experiences with parents, caregivers, doctors, and other trusted adults.

The goal is not to tell every reader how they should feel.

The goal is to remind them that their feelings matter.

New Chapters Every Week

The Curve Club is released as an ongoing digital book series.

5 new characters are published every Friday, allowing readers to follow the story as it grows.

Members receive access to every chapter that has already been released, along with each new chapter as it becomes available.

This format allows readers to grow alongside the characters and look forward to what happens next each week.

Supporting Higgy Bears

The Curve Club was created by Lauren Higginson, founder of Higgy Bears.

Higgy Bears is dedicated to making scoliosis more bearable for kids and teens through comfort, connection, education, resources, and community.

All proceeds from The Curve Club support Higgy Bears and its mission to help young people affected by scoliosis.

Every subscription helps create more support for families who may be navigating diagnosis, bracing, surgery, recovery, or the emotional challenges that can come with scoliosis.

What We Believe

We believe young people deserve stories that reflect what they are going through.

We believe scoliosis support should include emotional and social support, not only medical information.

We believe no child or teen should feel like they are the only person experiencing these fears, questions, or challenges.

We believe friendship and connection can make difficult journeys feel more manageable.

Most importantly, we believe every young person with scoliosis deserves to know this:

You are more than your curve.

Your story matters.

And you never have to face scoliosis alone.
